Great article as always. About the lacking Logos of the Internet I am not so sure. Shouldnt there be some kind of symbolic structure? If we take Dante into consideration even Hell itself is - while certainly upside down - intellegibly structured. There has to be the possibility to ‚harrow‘ the Internet by carrying the light of Logos into It’s womb.

At least that is what we have to hope for because I don‘t think this ‚second‘ (i would argue its the 3rd or even 4th - depending on your method of counting) reality will disappear anytime soon.

Thanks for the comment.

My use of logos here was more taking about the moral framework. There is physical structure to the Internet, and it is intelligible. But the moral framework is absent. Maybe it’s because unlike Creation (The Matrix), there is no overriding purpose.

I am loving the idea of the Harrowing the Internet. I am sure there is an article to write about that. Great idea.

Okay, I see.

The moral framework of virtual reality is certainly far from the divine Logos. At this point I dont really get the rules of It’s ethics, besides It’s obvious tendency to invert. But I dont know if the internet is without a purpose. I mean: I hope you are right and the Internet confronts us ‚just’ with a lower version of the primordial chaos - in this case we would not need to harrow it, a proper ark would suffice.

But I have an intuition of directionality while contenplating the digital sphere. If I were able to spell it out I would, but at this point its sadly more of a feeling than a notion. I feel like the virtual reality demands way to much sacrifices of It’s inmates to regard it void of purpose. At least this Chaos has agency and if its only purpose is to nourish and expand itself.

But to be honest: the symbolic structure of the technoscene seems to me as deep a rabbithole as it gets and I am just another inhabitant, looking for Morpheus to find me.

"harrow the internet" great line. And good point about the intelligibility of the internet. I could be that the internet has dark-Logos. Virtual is reality, just the lowest resolution. It's furthest from incarnation. Closer to imagination.

Corvin’s thought about the harrowing is inspired.

Dark-Logos is another very interesting thought.
