I watched Dune Part 2 last night at the cinema, and here is a thought which came to me during the film. We live within patterns. We are born, grow, decay and die. We wake, work, rest and then sleep to wake again. The patterns go beyond the human experience. Mountains rise and then erode to dust. Water falls on the land, runs into the sea, evaporates and returns as rain.
This thought wasn’t about the whole Dune series, but the latest two films. In the film, you do get this real sense he is trapped by events. I felt it more here, than in the book.
Maybe I’ll persevere with the books and write some more in-depth articles on the theology 🤔
I'm guessing from this that you haven't read all the books...?
You cannot make a decent theology of Dune without reading up to God Emperor at the very least, and better all the way to Chapterhouse.
I gave up reading God Emperor of Dune.

Thanks for the comment.
God Emperor is not the most exciting book to read of the series, I'll admit, but it does really pep up at the end.
