List of Creation Narratives in the Bible

One of my subscribers asked for a list. So below, I’ve share the part of the Bible which relates to the Creation and the meaning we derive from it.

Bible Passage

1. Gen 1 - Creation is a temple

2. Gen 2 - Explains how humans were created

3. Exo 20 v 11 - God created the Heavens, Earth and Sea and all things in them within six days

4. Job 9 v 8-9 - God stretches out the Heavens, treads down the Seas and then makes the constellations.

5. Job 38-41 - God explains how He created all things

6. Psa 33 v 6 - God made the Heavens through His Word and Spirit

7. Pro 3 v 19 - God made the Heavens and Earth through wisdom

8. Ecc 3 v 11 - God makes humanity immortal

9. Isa 40 v 26 - God names the stars

10. Isa 42 v 5 - God gives breath to all the people on Earth

11. Isa 45 v 12 - God creates the Heavens with His hands and orders the stars

12. Jer 10 v 12 - God creates the Earth through His power, and the Heavens through His wisdom

13. Amos 9 v 6 - God builds His temple and the stairs from Heaven to Earth.

14. Mark 10 v 6 - Jesus quotes Gen 1 v 27 (God made them male and female) and links this creation narrative with marriage

15. John 1 - In the beginning was the Logos.

16. Col 1 v 16 - Christ made all things and all things hold together in Him.

17. 1 Cor 8 v 6 - All things come from God and Christ

18. 1 Tim 4 v 4 - All things God created is good.

19. Heb 3 v 4 - God is the builder who builds creation.

20. Heb 11 v 3 - The universe was created by God’s command and all visible things are not made out of visible matter, i.e. God creates out of nothing

21. Rev 4 v 11 - All things were created by His will

Many Creation Narratives

This shows there are different narratives, but the one Creation. Each narrative draws out an element which helps us to better understand what God did, how He did it and why He did it.
