Our lives are overwhelmed by decisions. What to buy, what food to eat, and even what to waste our time on?
In our walk with God, we strive to make ourselves better Christians. We attend courses, special church services and buy books on the latest teaching, all of which we believe will help us how to act like good Christians.
Give Up For God
Maybe, instead, we need to ‘give up’ for God and allow Him to work in us.
The way we should look at it, is when we approach Christ, it’s not that we are working to know Him more. Instead, we are allowing Him to know us.
By choosing this path, we are giving Christ the permission to enter our lives.
We are inviting Him to change our perverse values, have our wrong-headed worldly preconceptions turned upside down and untie the knots of our personal history.
Soak in Him
This is His grace at work. As we are faithful to Him and soak in this divine encounter, He will work to draw closer to us.
It’s not that we build a relationship with Him, it’s that He builds a relationship with us. In our passivity, He moulds us, like a potter and the clay.
By surrendering to Him, we ‘choose to not choose’. And allow Him use us for His glory.
The CEO of the regional family shelter gave a talk at our men's breakfast and started his talk by asking if anyone in the room was trying to live their best life as a Chrisitian. Hands shot up all over. He then said, "Can you please stop. You will never be able to." He went on to say that Christ wants to live His life through us, we must allow it, and at that point, we will be "little Christs".
