[Aesop told many fables. They were short stories which were used to teach wisdom. Jesus spoke in a parables and they have a similar feel to the Fables. So I decided to mash them together and produced a series of stories where Jesus tells Aesop’s Fables as though they were His parables.]
Jesus sat down and taught the crowd.
In an area of the deep sea, the dolphins waged war on the mighty Whale. They wanted to overthrow his position as King of the Sea. They wanted to bring their own rule to the waves, and establish their kingdom in the sea.
At the height of the conflict, a little fish swam into the fray. He offered to reconcile them and the Whale.
A dolphin shouted at him, “Let us be. We, dolphins, would prefer to die than to be brought to peace with the Whale by you. Unless you leave right now, we will kill you.”
Jesus looked at His audience, produced a wry smile and said, “I am the little fish. And my Father is the whale. Man has been warring with Him for untold generations. Only those who humble themselves, listen to what I say, and follow me, will be reconciled to Him.”
Good fable, this was a good lesson though arguably Jesus is a whale disguised as a fish, given he and the Father are one indivisible whole.
As always love your stories Brother Alexander.
What a wonderful idea! Your writings are like a warm smile.
