The Genesis 5 genealogy contains astronomical data. This includes the sidereal orbits of the planets, the synodic orbits and data regarding comets.
By using the sidereal orbital data and the meaning of the names, an astronomical planetary clock can be created from the numbers.
The rings are as follow, outer to inner: Saturn, Solar Year, Mercury, Mars, Venus and Jupiter.
Theologically speaking, the names of the patriarchs align with the pre-Copernican celestial spheres.
By dividing the spheres into three Heavens:
1st - Sun, Moon and Air
2nd - The Planets
3rd - The Zodiac
The Neolithic communities could resolve the issues with the retrograde motions and the apparent movement of the Sun and Moon.
Through this they were then able to conceptualise the view of the spheres from the Creator’s perspective. And in conjunction with a Neolithic Zodiac, they were able to record sidereal orbital data.
We may see this in ancient archaeological sites too.
Using a similar methodology, I have found astronomical data in the Sumerian Kings List too.
This research may help in unlocking further astronomical connections with the Neolithic stone circles, advance the understanding of Neolithic astronomy and further uncover the link between theology and astronomy in the Bible.
I am open to constructive feedback on how this thesis could be developed.
