I’ve now reached 250 subscribers on my Agloria SubStack.
Thank you to all my subscribers. I very much appreciate all of you.
I thought I’d briefly share why I started this SubStack, Tower of Adam and Tales of Old England Christendom and what my plans are going forward.
During COVID, like many others, I reassessed my life. I thought about how I could contribute to the ever growing discussions around the Western civilisational problems of culture, economics and politics.
I have a firm belief that poor theology is a root of many of the fundamental Western issues today, and by addressing this, I feel I could help my readers to see the Western cultures in a different light. And maybe give them an idea of how they could address these problems in their own way.
For me, theology isn’t just the study of God, but the study of what is a person’s highest value. I believe it can help explain the way in which Western values affect how people experience Reality. Effectively, popping the bonnet and looking at the engine which drives Western cultures.
The current over-ridding Western values of radical individualism, freedom without consequences and Human Rights, when taken to their current extremes, result in the atomisation of the person and the breakdown of civil society.
We see this across the West world right now. And maybe it’s time to reassess what’s going on and begin to tell a new narrative, crafted from the great ancient story of Christ - the fundamental foundation of the Western experience.
Going forward, I want to continue with the Full Strength Christianity series on Agloria and write more stories about Adam and Eve. I’m going to publish more of my mash-ups between Aesop’s fables and Jesus’ parables as well. I’ve got quite a few of these in the pipeline.
I’m continuing my series of King Alfred on my Tales of Old England Christendom. I sincerely believe his story is a key in helping England to understand what the next best steps are for the nation. I wonder what ancient stories could be helpful for other Western nations as well, particularly in Europe.
And finally, Tower of Adam will start a new series looking at Queen Jezebel. She was Elijah’s arch nemesis. Behind the paywall, I will discuss Modern feminism, Neo-paganism and the role of woman in the church (clearly nothing too controversial there then 😂). I’m also publishing a book behind the paywall called Unpacking the Creation Narrative. Every paid subscriber can read the book as I publish each chapter in real time and will receive a hard copy/kindle version when it’s completed. They will also receive an acknowledgement at the front of the book.
I’ve given up with Instagram and YouTube at the moment. There are very inconsistent platforms which don’t reward hard work and good quality content - unlike SubStack.
So thank you to everyone who subscribes. I appreciate all the comments and look forward to reaching 500 subscribers.
Congratulations
Good start! Keep on keeping on!
